This clutch release bearing adapter replaces the old style Sachs throw out bearing with the bronze sleeve for the Mendeola S4 or S5 sequential transmissions. Mendeola sequential transmissions have a larger diameter guide tube over the input shaft compared to VW or Mendeola 2D transaxles that use the 1971 and later model VW throw out bearings.

This adapter can use a flat face or a convex face bearing depending on the clutch being used. Standard KEP Kennedy Engineered Products clutch assemblies will use the SC00170A flat bearing listed below. Tilton and Centerforce clutch assemblies will use the SC00170 convex bearing listed below.
