Description

This grease cap keeps grease in your CV joint similar to a CV saver but on the opposite side of the CV joint from the axle boot. It sits in a transmission's drive flange or in the stub axle on the wheel side.

This end cap is also commonly used on a Mack Boring / GKN Aquadrive setup along with GKN's Stock German Porsche 934 CV Joint For 33 Spline Axles. There's a great article on rebuilding an Aquadrive on the shrimpnfishflorida.com forums found here: Rebuilding My Aquadrive

The cap does make the transmission's drive flange or the stub axle's "cup" shallower and helps to keep grease up against the CV joint.

If you already have issues with your axle hitting the bottom of either of those cups, you'll see marks on the drive flange or the stub axle, and if you use these shallow caps, the axle will destroy the cap by banging up against it.
