Older style Fox bypass shocks used a threaded body cap. On the old style bypass shocks, you would have to order the bypass tubes in certain positions to clear your vehicle's suspenion. The RBC (rotating body cap), allows you to rotate the shock body bypass tubes out of the way. In order for you to use this cap, the top of your shock body would need to use a clip instead of being threaded.
