Description

Fox makes two different nine hole pistons for a 2-1/2" shock:
  • 222-01-291-1 (dash one) is 2.214" outside diameter
  • 222-01-291 is 2.271" outside diameter
The 222-01-291-1 is for an aluminum body shock because the cylinder wall is thicker and therefor has a smaller inside diameter. The 222-01-291 is larger in diameter because it's for a steel body shock that has a thinner wall cylinder.

Both of these pistons:
  • Are 0.730" thick
  • Use a 3/8" tall wear band
  • Are for a 1/2" stem
  • Use 029-18-033 o-ring underneath the wear band
  • Have three dimples drilled partially through for bleed holes
Note: Because the -1 piston is smaller in diameter, if you're going to use the 002-02-055 bronze wear band, you'll have to trim the length of the wear band slightly.
