Important: If you're replacing the old style steel 2-1/2" reservoirs, you'll need to purchase end cap clips, end caps, the IFP internal floating piston, and the wear band. When Fox switched from steel reservoirs to aluminum on their shocks, all of the internal parts were also changed because the aluminum reservoir has a smaller inside diameter than the steel reservoir.

    Parts required for aluminum reservoirs:

  • Two 038-01-052 wire clips

  • One end cap for the nitrogen side:
  • 226-00-091 Bare end cap without o-rings or Schrader valve
  • 813-00-092-KIT End cap kit (includes o-rings, Schrader valve and end cap)

  • One end cap for the oil side:
  • 226-00-097 End cap for a piggyback (requires 029-00-212 o-ring and 5/16"-18 thread 1-1/4" allen screws)
  • 226-00-090 End cap for the hose (#8 ORB usually used on Performance Series shocks)
  • 226-00-100 End cap for the hose (#10 ORB usually used on Factory Series shocks)

  • One 029-03-226-A O-ring for the above cap

  • One of these IFP internal floating pistons:
  • 223-00-031 Black nylon plastic non threaded piston (does not use a wear band)
  • 805-00-079-KIT Black nylon plastic non threaded piston with o-ring (does not use a wear band)
  • 223-00-036 Aluminum non threaded piston (requires 002-00-029 3/8" wear band and 029-00-328 o-ring)
  • 223-00-047 Aluminum threaded piston (requires 002-00-029 3/8" wear band and 029-00-328 o-ring)
  • 805-00-085-KIT Aluminum threaded piston with o-ring and wear band
  • 805-00-066-KIT Aluminum bleed piston with o-ring and wear band (best choice but requires special tool)

  • One 002-00-005-B Wear band for the IFP (note that this is 5/16" tall) or
  • One 002-00-029 Wear band for the IFP (note that this is 3/8" tall)
  • One 029-00-328 O-Ring for the IFP

  • One of these stickers:
  • 024-04-134 Orange and black sticker for coil over or smooth body shocks
  • 024-04-133 Orange and black sticker for IBP internal bypass shocks
  • 024-04-124 Orange and black sticker for external bypass shocks
Notes: A majority of Fox seal rebuild kits have the 5/16" tall soft brown wear bands in them. The 5/16" tall band was for steel reservoirs that had a different IFP. Most, but not all, of the aluminum reservoir aluminum pistons use the taller 3/8" wear bands. Usually, but not always, Performance Series shocks use the smaller #8 ORB hose and the Factory Series shocks use the larger #10 hose. For the IFP internal floating pistons, the nylon plastic pistons would be the least favorite. They don't use a wear band, they often break and they're not threaded to set the depth or to remove it from the reservoir. Out of all of the aluminum pistons, the 805-00-066-KIT bleed piston works the best, especially in an external bypass shock, but it requires an expensive tool to set the depth or remove it from the reservoir. On a conventional IFP, it's threaded 1/4"-20 coarse thread so you can grab onto it with a piece of all thread to set the depth or remove it from the reservoir. On the 805-00-066-KIT bleed piston, in the center of the piston, it has a small allen bleed screw. That's why it requires a special tool to grab onto that piston.

This sleeve DOES NOT work with the 803-00-977 Schrader valve end cap upgrade. It only works with 226-00-091 or 813-00-092-KIT Schrader valve end caps.
