The mounting flange on HiTorque's starters can be rotated to several positions allowing you to move the starter's motor out of the way of any chassis braces that might be in the way.
Note: On some VW type 2 six rib bus 091 transaxles, some builders will put the shorter 002 style bell housing and input shaft on it, which allows you to use this starter. If your 091 transaxle has the stock bell housing and input shaft, then you'll use the longer 104 series starters.
If you're uncertain if you're bus transmission has a 002 or a 091 bell housing measure the depth from where the starter bolts onto the transmission down to the starter bushing. If the distance from where the starter mounts onto the transmission to the starter bushing is 2 inches then you need to use the 101 series style starter. If the distance from where the starter mounts onto the transmission to the starter bushing is 2.5 inches then you need to use the longer 104 series starter.
