Description
Copper Anti-Seize Assembly Compound Effective to 1100°C (2000°F)
PERFORMANCE
Molyslip Copaslip is an anti-seize pre-assembly compound for use in any temperature from sub-zero to 1100°C (2000°F). It has extremely high film strength and has been formulated and produced to provide:
WHAT COPASLIP IS
Molyslip Copaslip is an anti-seize compound consisting of micro-sized particles of copper in a semi-synthetic base with highly effective oxidation and corrosion inhibitors.
HOW COPASLIP WORKS
The copper particles form a matrix that fills irregularities in the surface. This matrix never hardens, sets or melts and so is not disturbed by vibration, contraction or expansion. As a result, Copaslip ensures rapid and easy assembly of threaded parts, reduces torque, prevents seizing and galling, gives quick and easy breakout of threads, gaskets and packings (even after long exposure to high temperature, corrosive conditions or extreme surface pressures), and reduces wear in areas of high friction.
WHERE COPASLIP CAN BE USED
In high temperature areas up to 1100°C (2000°F ). Using Copaslip ensures easy dismantling for routine maintenance even after long periods at high temperatures.
In corrosive conditions such as coal mining or marine environments - Copaslip's unique combination of anti-seize properties with corrosion inhibitors gives quick and trouble-free dismantling.
In areas of extreme surface pressure the copper in Copaslip helps prevent metal-to-metal contact so there is no danger of galling or metal pickup even under extreme pressures.
In any assembly process, Copaslip speeds assembly by reducing the nut driving torque requirements compared to using oil or grease. This is in addition to the anti-seize properties and the greatly increased ease of dismantling should this be necessary.
In the petroleum industry using Copaslip in the drilling, production and refining process can save hours of downtime. It is extensively used on tool joints, drill collars, precision threads, large and small diameter pipelines and valves. Copaslip permits easy breakout of threaded connections without tearing or seizing even after prolonged exposure to corrosive conditions and high temperatures.
In the automotive industry Copaslip is recommended by major automotive manufacturers for use as a lubricant behind disc brake pads to prevent brake squeal and for application to pivot points and adjusters on drum brakes to facilitate adjustments. For exhaust systems use Copaslip between manifold, pipes and mufflers for removal without distortion or damage. Copaslip is also excellent for spark plug threads, cylinder head bolts, and gasket surfaces.
