Description
Compatible with most brands of VHF radio such as Icom, Vertex, Rugged, PCI and Kenwood. This 2 dB gain antenna is for applications that require a non-grounded antenna, such as vehicles with a roof rack, plastic roof such as a UTV, or has no roof to mount to. Using a non-grounded antenna will limit the range and coverage of your radio. For optimal reception you should purchase the mobile radio antenna that was designed for a metal roof to use the roof to help project a better signal. This antenna does NOT require a ground plane.
The antenna is 36 inches long not including the base. If you frequently use only one channel, for best reception cut the antenna to length based off of the frequency you are using most often.
