Description
PME created the perfect blank canvas for making your Ultra Four IFS independent front suspension uprights. Their builder bells, when used with 2-1/2" hollow spindles (sold separately), can either run a 128mm Porsche 934 or 148mm Series 30 CV joint.
Everything for this setup is sold separately. Some of PME's 2-1/2" hollow spindle snouts are stepped for a 68mm OD sealed carrier bearing. Depending on what drive plate is on your brake hubs (35 spline or 40 spline) will change which carrier bearing you end up using. After you make your uprights, pick a spindle snout and have your brake hubs installed you'll then order custom made stub axles directly from PME. The stub axles are not pre-made because depending on which length snout and which brake hubs you choose, that is going to determine the stub axle's length. You'll need to have everything assembled to get an accurate stub axle length.
You'll need:
With this setup you'll run full floater front brake hubs. The back of the stub axle is supported by a sealed carrier bearing. The front of the stub axle is supported by the brake hub.
The bell is manufactured out of one piece of billet 4130 chromoly steel. The way this bell is manufactured, it allows you to run various lengths of spindle snouts, which allows you to run a much larger variety of front brake hubs. It also offers flexibility in upright design and the ability to fully heat treat your uprights after welding.
