Tilton 40000-Series Super Starters feature a 3.0 HP motor and are designed for use on engines larger than 400 C.I.D. and/or over 11:1 compression ratio with standard of small diameter flywheel.
The 54-40001 is for applications using a GM V-8 engine bell housing with a 153 / 168-tooth ring gear flexplate or flywheel.
