Welded EMPI 16-5103-0 Urethane Shifter Coupler For 1965-79 Beetle 1971-1979 Super Beetle 1968-79 Bus

We take an ordinary EMPI 16-5103-0 urethane gear shift rod coupling and weld the round collar to the square cage housing. We also ditch the factory style wood screw and sleeve and replace them with a nyloc nut and a grade 5 hex bolt. Safety wire is often used through the eye of the grub screw to prevent it from backing out.

The urethane bushings eliminate the play and gear selection problems caused by worn pads and a distorted coupler cage in a stock VW shifter linkage.

This coupler fits a 1964 bug starting at chassis number 5911561 to 1979 or a 1968 to 1979 VW bus and replaces OEM numbers 311-711-211 or 311-798-211
